Get to Know Me!

Hello, I'm River (They/Them)! Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I share my love for gardening, minimalism, and slow living.

Floyd Palser

My gardening journey really started three years ago, right here in Omaha, Nebraska in USDA hardiness zone 6a. I fell in love with gardening when I finally realized that you don't need a big backyard to grow beautiful flowers! With limited space but no limit to my enthusiasm, I'm learning how to create a thriving garden in small spaces!

Over the years I've faced my share of challenges - from choosing the right containers, to figuring out the best soil mix. But every blooming flower and every new leaf is a victory worth celebrating! Some of my favorite memories include seeing my first Dahlia bloom, and turning my balcony into a colorful oasis.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and someone who identifies as non-binary, inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can be themselves and feel welcome. I'm striving to create a space here where we can all celebrate the diversity and the unique perspectives that we all bring to the table.

Beyond gardening I have spent the last couple years of my life embracing a more minimalist mindset throughout several areas of my life, as well as exploring slow, intentional living. I am exhausted by the breakneck pace we live our lives today and I know I'm not alone in this! My goal here is to share what I learn during my journey with you so we can grow and bloom together!
